This variant of the Maus showcases a mock-up turret, used for testing and trials post its transport to Bblingen in January 1944. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus (Sd.Kfz 205), the heaviest tank with completed prototypes during WWII, was designed by Porsche, approved by Hitler in 1942. Initially named 'Mammut', it was later changed to 'Maus'. Most of its operational life was spent in testing, with some versions seeing combat and capture by Soviets.
